The Maryland land cover classification raster dataset was developed by the Chesapeake Conservancy as part of the Chesapeake Bay Program Partnership's High-Resolution Land Cover Classification project. It has a one-meter pixel resolution and represents 2013-2014 conditions. Remote sensing techniques, including a rule-based object-oriented classification methodology, were used to create a consistent land cover dataset for Maryland. Overall accuracy was measured to be 90%. This dataset is intended for planning only. It should not be used for legal, financial, or cadastral purposes. Any conclusions drawn from this dataset are not the responsibility of the MD iMAP, Chesapeake Conservancy or the Chesapeake Bay Program Partnership. Users should be aware that features represented in this dataset may not accurately reflect real-world conditions. This dataset is freely viewable and downloadable by the public. |
